Commercial and Industrial Projects
Industry forms the lifeblood of our economies. Masdar has been working hard to support the commercial and industrial sector to meet decarbonization goals. Emerge, our joint venture with EDF renewables, has been spearheading innovative rooftop solar projects throughout the UAE and in neighboring countries in support of net-zero goals.
For example, Emerge has installed a 7 MWp rooftop solar project at Warner Bros. World theme park in Abu Dhabi, which will meet nearly 40 percent of the park’s annual energy demand. Similar projects are underway at the Coca-Cola Al Ahlia Beverages’ Al Ain bottling facility and Khazna Data Centers in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi.
In Indonesia, we are targeting the C&I market with our PT Masdar Mitra Solar Radiance joint venture. Operating under the Solar Radiance brand, the joint venture with PT Mitrabara Adiperdana Tbk will help Masdar further expand its presence in Indonesia and support the nation’s clean energy and climate objectives.
With Indonesia targeting at least 51 percent of added power capacity from renewable sources by 2030, the C&I segment is expected to enjoy very rapid growth.
The plant, which has obtained Abu Dhabi’s Department of Energy Solar Photovoltaic (PV) self-regulating generation license, will have an installed capacity of 7 MWp and will provide electricity to the Khazna Abu Dhabi 6 (AUH 6) facility.
